Kim praises the Lord for answered prayer. She prayed for a woman at the shop where she works to get some paying customers and she did. Mary received a gift this week, possibly her new hairdo. Our pastor gets to go for a consultation to get his eyes worked on thanks to the generosity of family. There is a possibility he may get help for his hip as well. We are all praising God for that. Ruth said the scans on her stomach came back clean. Linda reports that Sandra's knee surgery went well and she is recovering. Anita is glad to have her son back with her. Pam is thankful that there is a chance the roofs are going to be repaired at her apartment complex. Priscilla also reported that Chuck is doing well in rehab.
Kelley wants us to keep praying for Shelley and Clarke. Kim is trying to save for an operation that she needs. She wants us to keep praying for Christie from last week that she find Jesus and thus be better equipped to deal with the turmoil in her family. Anna asked that we pray for the Morgan family, people she knows who have had both children arrested recently. She also asks that we pray for another friend, Rudy, who is suffering complications from diabetes and fears losing a leg. April's family got the money they needed to stay in their apartment but they need more. They really need a better place to live and to live in harmony with each other. April asks that we pray for her mom who still needs knee surgery. She asks prayer for the family of a lady she knows who passed away suddenly from an undiscovered brain tumor. Dede asks continued prayer for her family and her vision. Pray for Francis to be protected in her home and have her needs met.
Vicki whom we prayed for last week was with us today. Pray for the comfort of her and her family as they deal with the passing of her father. She is thankful for the relationship they built toward the end and the special mementos she received after the funeral. Priscilla is concerned for her parents as their health continues to deteriorate. Her father had a stroke while she was visiting him this weekend. She asks that we pray for the salvation of her neighbor Jose whom she has been sharing with.
It occurred to me as I was listening to the requests today that a great many of them are for other people rather than ourselves. That encourages me. I believe that's why we are instructed to pray. God wants our hearts to be like His, caring for the people around us the way He does. Let's keep it up, and don't forget to ask how you can be the answer to a prayer.
