For The Week of August 18
Our thanks to our very special guests Dr. Larry Waters and his wife Mary! Dr. Waters is Associate Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife Mary are lifelong missionaries to the Philippines where they’ve seen thousands come to Christ. They are committed to building into the lives of people around the world. Next spring Dr. Waters will lead a new course at DTS on The Theology of Suffering to help train future leaders in Disability Ministry. A visit to BBT will be a required part of the class!
BBT was also blessed by a visit from Daniel Nsomekela from Zambia. Daniel leads an organization that seeks to minister to people and families affected by disability in his country. We look forward to having Daniel return to speak about his ministry.
THIS WEEK’S PRAYER REQUESTS
Lupe asks for prayer for her friend who has cancer in her spine as well as her friend Sylvia who is helping care for Tika and her family during her illness.
Linda asks for continued prayer for her cousin Sandra whose baby is due in four weeks.
Praise Report! Francis is a Great Grandma! Her daughter Lisa is the grandmother.
We all join Peggy in asking for comfort for her friend Chris on his father’s Homegoing.
Please pray for Richard who is experiencing pain in his feet and legs. May his doctor’s appointment go well and may our awesome Lord supply him with the funds needed for support hose to ease his suffering and to cover some needed car repair.
Our guest Dr. Larry Waters asks that we continue to pray for Dotty Zuck (wife of former DTS Professor Roy Zuck) who is suffering with Parkinson’s.
Pam thanks the Lord for his many blessings! She asks that we remember her mother in our prayers and blessings upon the Devotional that she plans to share with her.
Dee Dee thanks us for our prayers for her and her mother Arvella who is doing better. Pray that they find a new home with plenty of room for Arvella’s furniture and sewing!
Cindy shared a praise report for Mike’s brother who is doing well enough after his recent surgery to go into rehab. Pray for strength and a rapid recovery.
Priscilla shared an update on Clettabelle who is resting comfortably following her recent surgery which reveled she is free of cancer, praise God! She also asks for urgent prayer for Laurie who is the hospital with a hole in her foot that won’t heal. Pray for peace, comfort and healing for her and he husband Sammy.
Priscilla also shared a praise report for Mary Taylor who wants to proceed with surgery
on her leg so that she will be healed in time for her son’s visit. She also shared a letter from Crystal who said that being a Christian is like being a pumpkin—God cleans out the yucky stuff inside and puts a smile on our faces that lets His light shine through!
For Larry and Linda who will travel to Cleveland Ohio this week to celebrate her mother’s 80th birthday. Pray for safe passage and a peaceful gathering with family.
If any prayer request has been overlooked charge it to our heads and not our hearts!
